Ira Brooker is an award-winning writer and editor currently based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. His work has appeared in multiple magazines and websites, including Metromix, The Drama, Time Out Chicago and Make Magazine. He is a co-founder of No Touching, a literary journal of creative nonfiction (www.notouchingmagazine.com).
Ira’s work has been honored by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association, the David Friedman Memorial Foundation and the Union League of Chicago. He gets a surprisingly keen thrill out of seeing his work referenced in unexpected outlets. To that end, his writing has been cited in numerous press kits, at least one undergraduate academic thesis and the entry on the Steve Miller Band’s “The Joker” in Brent Mann’s book “Blinded By the Lyrics: Behind the Lines of Rock & Roll’s Most Baffling Songs.”
